We are very pleased with the performance of Liudas Prusinskis Jr. in taking gold in the under 55 kilos category on Sunday. 3 fights, winning each very clearly, stepping it up a level as the opposition got tougher. This time last year he took gold at this event but in the novice category. Since then we’ve been on a massive learning curve. Last year included a win over top rated Riley Smith as well as stepping up to take on the very talented Sonny Greaves, which we lost, but learnt so much from. Those are the fights that help you develop and he has taken the losses like the wins and learnt from them all. 3 measured performances on the day and another gold, a good days work.
Cari-anne Stuart we thought was unlucky in her final against a good dutch girl but wouldn’t argue with the result either. However we never lose at our gym, we learn and she will come back stronger for the next one. Taking easy fights and collecting an endless line of wins can always be arranged if you go around cherry picking your fights, but Cari-anne set her stall out for this year by telling us she wanted to be tested and thats what will happen and she will be better for it. Great attitude, a team member to be very proud of.
Thank you to our travelling supporters, much appreciated and our new team member Nondas Palaiokrassas who helped throughout the day as well.
