TKO ELITE 2019 PRESENTATION EVENING
So, a big thank you to everyone who came last week to our presentation night, our chance as instructors to thank all our members for their hard work throughout the year and of course have a good time socialising.
The presentation night is also a good indicator of how our gym has grown over the years and it seems we have now outgrown our venue for the past 10 years. Back then Lordswood was in fact the venue for the presentation night of 3 gyms but now we are getting more people there than we ever did before with just the one gym, proof of the continued growth and success we have enjoyed these past few years and testament to the hard work and support from all our instructors. So, we were because of that a touch packed (good job we all like each other😉), but certainly we will be on the lookout for somewhere bigger for next year’s event.
This year we also held a raffle to raise funds to help a very good cause, helping one of our young members Isabelle Harwood-Lucas hopefully get the treatment she needs…change that, not hopefully, it WILL happen.
Last week I asked if anyone could maybe donate a prize or two so we could hold a raffle. Well, on the night we had 20 prizes!!! An amazing number, from bottles to wine, to theatre tickets, to Photoshoots and restaurant meals. A fantastic response that makes all our instructors very proud of the people we have in our gym. Thank you. In the end we raised a total of £660, twice what we were aiming for. But it doesn’t stop there and we have another fund raising event planned for the new year so check all Facebook pages and our website for more details nearer the time
All our children who attended all received an award and nice to see from all the pictures doing the rounds on FB this weekend that they meant a lot to them.
Our special student of the year awards went to Alyssa Creed, Harley Cordingley, Lucas Pardoe, Adam Ali, Danas Ramoska, Dillon Slee, Nondas Paliokrassas, Lenny Buckler, Erin Wilkinson, Luke Walsh, Faye Humphries and Donna Payne
Our TOT of the year went to Riley Pardoe. Junior of the year to Lexie Savage, Cadet of the year to Georgia Frickey, Boxer of the year to James Prince, Amateur Boxer of the year to Safeerullah Safie , Senior kickboxer of the year went to Cari-anne Stuart and our fighter of the year went to Lewis Hitchen. Lewis had his first fight just 12 months ago and has since then had 9 fights, won the IKF K1 open, WKU British open and last week the IKF Southern Area title, so a good year and an award well deserved.
On behalf of all our instructors thank you for all your hard work during this past year, it’s been an absolute pleasure working with you all to help you achieve your goals. We still have 2 weeks left of training this year so let’s keep it going right up to the end, but then we look forward to once again seeing you at your classes in 2020
A very good night, after a very good year, THANK YOU
